Hanuman Temple Shimla
Jakhu Mandir, dedicated to Lord Hanuman, is renowned for its stunning 108-foot tall statue, which is one of the largest in the world and towers over the scenic hill station of Shimla. Perched atop Jakhu Hill, the highest peak in the region (8,000 feet above sea level), the temple offers breathtaking panoramic views of Shimla and the surrounding Himalayan ranges.
Visitors to Jakhu Mandir are often enchanted by the spiritual atmosphere and the serene environment, making it a peaceful retreat amidst the natural beauty of the region. However, one unique aspect of this location is the large population of playful monkeys that inhabit the temple grounds. These monkeys are known to be mischievous and may attempt to grab visitors' belongings, so it's advisable to be cautious while walking around the area.
Pilgrims and tourists can either hike up to the temple through a scenic trail or opt for a cable car ride, both of which provide a memorable experience. Whether for religious devotion or the love of nature, Jakhu Mandir remains a must-visit destination for those traveling to Shimla.
